Covid-19 Testing For Fort Bend County Residents

Wearing a face mask when you leave your home protects yourself, your family and your neighbors. Continue physical distancing of at least 6 feet away from others when you are out in the community. And, please learn and understand your risk as determined by your age or chronic medical conditions and the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control.
County Judge KP George and County health officials encourage all Fort Bend County (FBC) residents to get tested for the COVID-19. This testing helps residents to know if they should be in isolation or quarantine and also assists our officials in understanding the amount of COVID-19 in our community. The testing data– which is updated daily here on our online COVID-19 Response HUB.
Which COVID-19 test is performed at Fort Bend County sites?
FBC only performs PCR tests for COVID-19. Depending on the level of illness in the community, it can take up to a week to receive your test results. FBC does not provide Rapid COVID-19 tests.
Who can be tested?
All residents who are 3 years old or older can be tested at a FBC COVID-19 test site. You are not required to have symptoms to be tested.
How much does it cost to be tested for COVID-19?
There is no cost to residents at the Rosenberg, North Annex, Fifth Street, or Four Corners testing locations.
Do I have to have an appointment to get tested?
Yes, appointments are required. To schedule an appointment at the Rosenberg, North Annex, Fifth Street or Four Corners testing locations, please call (281) 633-7795 weekdays from 8 a.m to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

What happens when I arrive for my COVID-19 test?
You will be asked to complete a form and the staff will ask to see your ID for verification. The test is administered by a FBC provider while you are inside your vehicle. This system ensures social distancing, best sanitary practices and a smooth management of traffic flow.
How long will it take to get my results?
Depending on the amount of illness in the community, it could take up to a week to receive your test result.
What should I do if I am positive for COVID-19?
If you test positive for COVID-19, please follow the important guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) listed here on what to do if you are sick and listed here on what your household members and those caring for you at home need to do to avoid getting sick too.
What do I need to know if I am negative for COVID-19?
If you test negative for COVID-19, it does not mean that you will not get sick later. You can still get exposed to the virus at another time or the test did not pick up on a very early infection.

Stopping the Spread: Vaccines are the best tools available to reduce the impact of COVID-19, so we urge residents to do their part by getting vaccinated and encouraging others to do the same. Once you are fully vaccinated, which includes boosters, you can return to your normal activities with a greatly reduced risk.
